An antique garnet and silver bracelet by Wiese
An antique garnet and silver bracelet by Wiese.
The mediaeval style articulated links formed by four circular overlapping loops centred by a round cabochon cut rhodolite garnet with Romanesque style arrowheads to the quadrants of each section.
An original handcrafted silver bracelet designed and created by Jules Wiese who was born in Berlin and later moved to Paris. He collaborated with French jeweller Froment Meurice, later opening his own independent workshop and thus securing a personal registered mark – stamped to two sections of this bracelet. Wiese favoured mediaeval styles and worked often in silver with less valuable gemstones such as the garnets in this bracelet. His work is always of an extremely high quality and highly sought after particularly in Europe and Britain. In his lifetime he won many medals at the world exhibitions.
