Mother's Day 2010 – April 2010 –

Since the early twentieth century families in most western countries have celebrated Mother's Day now on the second Sunday of May although many cultures had honoured motherhood with religious ceremonies for centuries. Mother's Day has become one of the most popular in our calendar, marked by family lunches and dinners and the giving of flowers, traditionally white, jewels and other personal gifts.

So many antique jewels convey affection. Hearts, gem or gold, and ruby, turquoise and pearl jewels traditionally symbolise love and memories. The gift could simply be a gorgeous jewel to be treasured forever by your Mother. Choose a dainty pendant, a delicate bracelet, a locket to hold a photo or perhaps a large amethyst ring with a froth of tiny diamonds forming its lacey border.

Life is made up of memories of special occasions. Make Mother's Day 9 May 2010 a special occasion.
